I have a MAC, or users that use MAC: What Should I Do?

posted on June 13th 2007

Maximum Voice servers enable MAC and Windows users to communicate using Ventrilo. In order for MAC computers to make a connection a few modifications need to be made to the server configuration. You will need to have your control panel login and this tutorial to complete the process.

Step 1:
Login to your control panel:

control.maximumvoice.com

Step 2:
Under your main settings, find the area where it says: Voice Settings

Step 3: Change the Voice Codec from GSM to Speex. There are many different choices for this setting. We recommend that you use Speex (16 khz, 16 bit, 10 qlty) 5324 bytes/sec. This setting gives you crisp clear quality, with the best performance. You can use Speex (32 khz), but sometimes MAC users don?t like the sound quality of the setting.

Step 4:
Save your settings and restart your server!
